After I stepped outside a camera store in Portland, Oregon, I spotted this fellow walking my way.
I took my earbuds out and asked him if I could take his portrait. He first said “no,” but I quickly told him that he had a fantastic beard and that it would make a great photo.
The compliment seemed to change his mind as he nodded his head, allowing me the shot. As soon as the shutter clicked, I thanked him and he was on his way.
